What
services are provided with room rentals?
An abundance of linens
and towels are in each room. Second day laundering is available
from the inn-keepers, or daily upon request.
Bath soap is provided,
however personal care items (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.)
are not supplied.
A hair dryer, coffee
packets, and French/English videos are in each guest room. An
iron is available upon request.
What
restaurants are recommended within a 25-mile drive?
Landry's Seafood in
Pierre Part. Tues-Sunday, very casual, family-owned, affordable
home-cooking, great gumbo, seasonal oysters, boiled crabs and
crawfish.
Pierre Part Drive-Inn.
Daily, sandwiches and salads, delicious shrimp po-boys, ice cream.
Call-in order to avoid wait.
Pierre Part Donut
Shop, early morning weekends only.
Tampicos in Morgan
City. Tue-Sunday, Mexican food with Louisiana flare, lively atmosphere.
Excellent verde sauce, guacamole, and margaritas in lounge.
The Cabin Restaurant
in Burnside. Daily, casual, historic building, antique decor,
good Louisiana food and service, reasonable prices.
John Folse Restaurant
in Donaldsonville. Upscale, excellent food and service, varied
seasonal menu, may need reservations. Call for schedule.
Nottoway Plantation,
lovely surroundings, varied menu, mid-day desserts & coffee.

Are there
alligators nearby?
Especially during
mating season from April - June, alligators may appear in the
bayou at Le Dock and nearby lakes.
Although they are
unlikely to attack, please beware of gators, nutria, snakes or
other local critters!
How's
the fishing from the deck?
Perch, crappie, and
catfish are often caught from the deck year-around.
Occasionally a cazbagou,
bass or garfish can be caught or netted, but you should have alternative
meal plans just in case!
Cane poles are provided
on deck for guests -- bait shop is at the end of the street. Fish
cleaning table on deck.
Are there
any Cajun craftspeople to visit in Pierre Part?
Some local craftspeople
welcome visitors/customers by appointment and are located within
walking distance or short drive.
